Abstract

This article examines Sino-Indian border conflicts from 2017 to 2022, exploring the consolidation of the Asian Supercomplex through an analysis of the contemporary securitization of the Line of Actual Control (LAC). Analytical and descriptive in nature, the study employs a qualitative methodology based on a literature review and theoretical-conceptual analysis guided by Buzan and Wæver’s Regional Security Complex Theory. The findings suggest that the erosion of the institutional mechanisms established through the agreements documented in the UN Peacemaker database, together with measures such as China’s New Land Borders Law, has contributed to the consolidation of the Asian Supercomplex. The intensification of the securitization of the LAC has thus reinforced a supercomplex that was already emerging from broader transformations in the Asian security order.
